This is what we call bionics, that is, the application of electronics in biology and vice versa, with an integration between the living and the technological in a very intimate way, to the point that we can no longer know exactly where one ends and another begins.

Going a little further, it seems that soon the dentists will need to be trained in electronic technology, as more things are being announced for the implantable teeth of the future.

This is the case of a company announcing a tooth endowed internally with a reservoir of medicines, for people who need them constantly, who do not remember to take them on time (or cannot) or even in emergency situations .

 The tooth, equipped with advanced electronic and mechatronics resources, has a microcontroller chip with the schedule of the dose and the time in which it should be taken.

 At the right time, the microcontroller triggers the internal dosing device to the tooth, determining how much of the drug should be released. Thus, the drug is released and absorbed directly through the mucosa of the patient's mouth, which eventually does not even notice what occurs, if the medicine has no taste.

 More than that, it is already foreseen that this same tooth can be equipped with sensors which determine when the patient's blood pressure, the sugar level changes or some other event that requires an immediate injection of the drug. The tooth, with its internal circuit of control, will inject the medicine, intervening immediately in a situation that could be dangerous for the patient, demanding immediate relief.

 Now all that’s left is to invent the tooth that releases medicine for toothache when it is the problem itself.
