One of the two D-type Flip-Flops found in a 4013 can be used as a nonretriggerable monostable as shown in Figure. This circuit is trig- gered by a positive pulse applied to the input. When this pulse is applied the output, Q goes to the high logic level and Q/ goes to the low logic level as determined by a time delay fixed by R and C. The time constant for this circuit is about 0.7 x R x C [R in ohm and C in farad]. The minimum recommended value for C is about 47 pF.
