This circuit is nothing more than a voltage quadruplicator that can generate close to 1 000 V from the 220 V AC grid. The high voltage is obtained from a autotransformer, which will not be necessary if the local network is already 220 V. The circuit given in the figure uses metallized polyester capacitors with a minimum working voltage of 600 V. The diodes are equivalent and the output current is only a few milliamps, since the capacitive reactance of the capacitors used in the quadruplicator system must be considered.
