Figure 1 shows how the 4029 can be connected to count up to 10 and also up to 18. If pin 9 is grounded, the device counts by 1os; and if retuned to “1 the device counts by 18. Pin 10 at the “1" level makes the device count forward, and if it is the count goes backward. The maximum input frequency is 7.4 MHz when the circuit is powered from a power supply of 10 V.
