“I saw on the internet that it is dangerous to use cell phones during storms, as they can attract lightning. What's really there?”

This is another one of those speculations made by people who do not have technical or scientific knowledge. They are like to those that say that putting a good light on a TV antenna improves reception, that putting batteries in the refrigerator and recharging them, and that water bottles near the energy meters "steel wool". There is no basis for this fact. There is no connection between lightning strikes and cell phones. The rays choose the shortest path between the cloud and the earth and there come several factors such as, being in the open field, in contact with large metal objects, and much more.
