When I leave my cordless phone near the computer there is interference in the speakers of the media amplifier. What is it? Can this interference damage the computer?
When a cordless phone is off the base, near the computer for example, when you wait for a call, it communicates constantly with the base to let it know that it is within range and that it can receive calls. This signal can be picked up by the sound box circuits of the computer and is therefore reproduced as a low-frequency snore in the case of digital cordless phones. To eliminate this interference simply move your phone away from your computer. Interference is not harmful to the computer as it consists of a low power signal that is processed only by the audio circuits of the amplifier.
