Figure 1 shows how the SPDT sensor can be used to control the direction of a dc motor with a dual-voltage power supply. In blocks with motor controls, the reader can obtain a wider selection of configurations by using transistors in the controls.

The transistors can be the BD135/136 pair for motors up to 500 mA. For more powerful motors use the TIP31/32 pair.
