The following formulas are used in calculations involving dimensions of a folded half-wave dipole.
Formula 1
L = λ / 2
Where:
L is the antenna´s length in meters (m)
λ is the wavelength in meters (m)
Application Example:
Determine the total length of a folded half-wave dipole to operate in a frequency of 300 MHz.
Data:
f = 300 MHz = 300 000 000
L = ?
Calculating the wavelength:
λ = 300.000.000 / 300.000.000 = 1 meter
Using formula 1:
L = ½ = 0,5 meter
