This circuit is used in instrumentation, consisting of a half wave rectifier with the operational amplifier TLC272, but equivalents with FET can be used. The source must be symmetrical. The circuit is in Texas Instruments Linear Circuits Applications. The resistors depend on the desired gain. Typical values for both are 10k.
