This circuit was found in a Poptronics in December 2001. The circuit consists of an amplified RF detector. L1 must have inductance according to the frequency of the signal being detected. The transistor can also be the BF245 and the capacitors must be ceramic. Circuit consumption is low, on the order of a few milliamps.
