The regulation of high voltages through common semiconductor circuits, such as integrated circuits and transistors, can be solved with a configuration suggested by Texas Instruments and which admits voltages at the input in the range of 70 to 125 V, providing an output voltage of 50V under current up to 500 mA. The circuit in question is shown in the figure and requires the transistor that controls the main current, type TIPL762 to be mounted on a good heat radiator.
