This is a protection circuit in which, under excess current in the load, the SCR trips by shorting the power source in such a way that the fuse blows. In this way, the current in the load is interrupted and the cause of the problem can be verified. The current at which the SCR is triggered, and which is the protection current, will be calculated by the formula next to the diagram. Value 2 is the trip voltage of most SCRs, and depending on the type used, it may be necessary to change this value to obtain the trip at the desired current.
