This circuit is from 1982 documentation and has some interesting uses, despite its extreme simplicity. It can be used to decorate a toy for a children's room, which will not remain in total darkness during the night, or even to signal, in the dark, switches or device controls. Another important purpose is the experimental one, of course. We then have a blinker with two neon lamps, which flash alternately at a speed determined by both the value of R1 and R2, as well as C1. With a higher value of C1, more intermittent flashes are obtained, that is, longer time. By changing or adding a variable resistor, as shown in the figure, it is possible to have a frequency control for the circuit.
