This circuit was obtained from an English magazine from 1981. The magazine no longer exists, but the circuit can be easily assembled as components are common. The diode may be 1N34 and variable C1 obtained from an old medium wave radio. The antenna that also works as a tuning coil is made up of 4 turns of common wire forming a frame with approximately 1 m side. The receiver must use a crystal or piezoelectric headset and depends on the presence of nearby strong stations to work well.
