“I have equipment that uses a power transformer. The transformer overheats, I believe it is at a temperature above normal. I measured more than 120º C. Is this heating dangerous for the component?”

Although power transformers are heated, a hot transformer can indicate problems. In practice, a class 220 transformer must not operate at more than 150º C and a class 105 transformer must not go beyond 50º C. If it is not possible to know the class of your transformer, you must be aware, as heating in excess can indicate overload. There may be a problem with the circuit it supplies.
