Hearing that ultraviolet radiation can pass through objects and that they are just as dangerous as X-rays or atomic radiation. Equipment that uses this type of radiation should be avoided. It is true?

No. Ultraviolet radiation is much less penetrating than X-rays and gamma-type atomic radiation, for example. Ultraviolet radiation is blocked by most common objects. Even ordinary glass has a good attenuation for this radiation. This radiation should not affect our skin and eyes in great intensity, as direct exposure is dangerous. Purifying equipment, sterilizers and others have resources to avoid direct exposure of the people who use them.
