Long wires were once used on the roofs of houses to serve as an antenna for medium waves and even short waves (AM). How do I make an antenna of this type, since the AM reception where I live is deficient (away from the city)?

Antennas of this type do not really need to be scaled. For medium waves, in principle, the longer the wire, the better. Simply use a bare wire or even wrapped insulated at the points where we fasten them on the masts or other supports and lower the tip of this wire to the antenna input of the radio. For radios with telescopic antennas, simply place an alligator clip on the end of the wire and plug it into the radio antenna. It should greatly improve the reception, especially at night when very distant stations can be picked up. Just be careful to disconnect the antenna wire on lightning stormy days.
