“I want to buy a welding gun to speed up my work, since it instantly warms up. However, I was informed that it is dangerous for certain sensitive components and that it should be avoided. What is the truth in this?”

In fact, the welding gun heats up by a strong current that circulates through its metallic tip, which means that when used, the tip is energized. The voltage at the tip is low, but even so, it is dangerous for certain sensitive components and should therefore be avoided. The pistol should only be used with care when it and the components to be soldered or welded are properly grounded. The equipment on which maintenance is performed must be switched off.

(*) Now we have battery powerd soldering guns that are safe.
