You can mount your own loudspeaker system with a full-range midrange speaker and a tweeter, improving the playback quality of your amplifier, but you will need a frequency splitter or crossover filter.

 

The frequency divider described above separates the treble for the tweeter, leaving the bass and midrange available for the other speaker. It is a simple assembly audio filter that can operate with powers up to 50 Wrms per channel.

 

Of course the speakers should be able to withstand the power of your amplifier. In figure 1 we have the filter diagram that uses only three components in addition to the loudspeakers.

The system can work with 4 or 8 ohm speakers. The coil is formed by 150 turns of wire 22 or 24 AWG on a spool approximately 3 cm high with a small ferrite rod inside.

 

The capacitors C1 and C2 are 22 uF x 50 V connected in opposition. A single depolarized 10 uF capacitor may also be used.
