With this circuit it is possible to power small motors of direct current from the network of 110 V or 220 V without the need of a transformer. The reduction is made by an incandescent lamp (do not use another type). Note, however, that the circuit is not isolated from the power grid, and may cause shock to anyone touching any of its parts.

 

The lamp power depends on the motor. The reader should experiment with lamps of 25-60 W, and 40 W normal, as indicated in the text. In Figure 1, we have the complete diagram of the device.

The direction of rotation of the motor depends on its connection. To reverse the rotation, reverse the wires. In Figure 2, we have the terminals strip. Install the circuit in a closed plastic box.
