This power source can be used for designs and demonstrations which require continuous voltages of the order of 150 V (110 V) or 300 V (220 V) under low current. But, beware, the circuit is not isolated from the power grid and can cause dangerous shocks in whoever touches the exposed parts which are not insulated.

 

This circuit uses a common incandescent bulb to limit the current and a diode to rectify the output. There is no voltage regulation. The output current is of the order of a few tens of milliamperes. In Figure 1, we have the complete diagram of the source.

In Figure 2, we have the assembly on a terminal strip. It is convenient to install this bridge inside a plastic box, wood or other insulation material.
