The purpose of the circuit of figure 1 is simply to obtain a voltage of 6 V for powering portable equipment from the automotive battery. The maximum current is 1 A and connection plugs with correct polarity should be used.
The capacitor C1 must have a working voltage of at least 16 V and the integrated circuit must be mounted on a heatsink.

In figure 2 we have the printed circuit board for the assembly of the gear unit. We recommend that it be enclosed in a plastic box.
