There are hundreds of dedicated integrated circuits that enable the implementation of small audio amplifiers with a minimum of external components. In the family of analogue we highlight the Philips Components TDA7052 which, despite something old, can still be found in many component suppliers.

   The great advantage of using this IC in small amplifiers is in its simplicity since only two capacitors and an external resistor are necessary for its implementation. In figure 1 we have the complete circuit of this amplifier that can operate with voltages from 3 to 18 V.

   The power of 1.2 W is achieved with a 6 V supply and 8 ohm load.

   The input impedance is 100 k ohm and the quiescent current with 6 V supply is 4 mA. The voltage gain is 40 dB and the harmonic distortion rate with 6 V supply is 0.2%.
