With this simple tester we can test cables for household appliances, motors, lamps, solenoids, showerheads and hair dryers, electric forms and more, such as high voltage components such as diodes, polyester capacitors, etc.
The circuit uses a 5 to 15 W incandescent light bulb and has a diode that makes it possible to carry out pulsed continuous current tests, which is interesting in many cases, such as diode testing.
But, be aware: the device is not insulated from the mains and the tests must be done with the test circuit totally disconnected from the mains. In figure 1 we have the complete diagram of the tester.
In figure 2 we have the assembly aspect.
The diode can be 1N4004 or 1N4007 if the network is 110 V and must be 1N4007 if the network is 220 V. Do not use any other type of lamp other than incandescent.
