Recently, TME has extended the assortment of products offered by Autonics – one of the most recognisable suppliers specialising in industrial automation products. The new range that is now available in the TME product catalogue includes various safety switches and photoelectric sensors.
See below for an overview of new products offered by Autonics.
PROTECTIVE DEVICES
Safety-related products make up the largest section of the new Autonics product assortment – these are primarily components designed to protect the life and health of operators in contact with automated production, processing, machining processes, etc.
SF2ER safety switches
The SF2ER series of products belongs to the category of stop switches, designed to disconnect the actuating components from power supply in automation systems or to activate the braking mechanisms. They come in the 22 mm standard (with the mounting hole diameter of 22.5 mm). Depending on the model, they are equipped with NC or NC+NO contacts, and selected products feature as many as three pairs of contacts. The diameter of the emergency mushroom button designed to be pushed with user’s palm is 32 mm or 40 mm, and its bright red colour clearly indicates its primary function. Most importantly, the switch is released only after its head is turned.
SFD series key switches
As their name suggests key switches are activated by inserting a special flat metal “key”. The products in the SFD series come with two slots (side and upper one). The switch head can be installed in four orientations, making it easy to adapt the product to your application. Also referred to as door switches, the switches presented here are used to protect various types of passages and access points. They ensure that a machine or power circuit can only be activated when a protective cover is closed. Their contacts withstand voltage up to 250 V (both AC and DC), with the service life reaching up to a million of closing/opening cycles. Note also that, similarly to many other Autonics products, they boast the IP67 rating, so they are fully protected against adverse environmental conditions, making them perfect solutions for facilities where wet, moist, dusty, etc. materials are handled and processed.
Light curtains
Light curtains are installed in passages and access points to detect the presence of humans or objects. They meet the applicable requirements of international workplace safety regulations. The ability to monitor movement within relatively large planes is their undoubted advantage. Additionally, they ensure very fast tripping times and can be programmed to exclude specific areas from the zone (permanently or periodically). Once set up using dedicated software provided by the supplier, light curtains operate autonomously using the transistor output (PNP/NPN). Depending on the model, the light curtain height ranges from 144 mm to 1868 mm, which facilitates detecting and protecting the entire body, limbs or just individual fingers.
Safety relays
Safety relays are used to build systems comprising numerous sensors/switches. The SFC series of products includes devices with self-diagnosis function, designed for DIN rail mounting. They operate 2, 3 or 4 outputs and can be connected in loops. They come with 2 to 4 basic outputs and up to 10 auxiliary (transistor) outputs. Depending on the version, basic leads are connected with contacts of an electromagnetic relay (current-carrying capacity rated at 5 A with voltage up to 240 V AC, 30 V DC) or semiconductor (FET) relay. Electrical connection is made using screw terminals. The components operate at a voltage of 24 V DC. The relay setpoints make it possible to adjust the delay using a potentiometer.
INDUSTRIAL NETWORKS AND ARIO SYSTEM
ARIO is a powerful, but easy to install and adapt, industrial automation control system. It includes narrow-profile power supply and communication modules, as well as inputs/outputs installed on DIN rails. They are compatible with diverse transmission methods and protocols, e.g.: Ethernet/ IP, Fieldbus, Modbus, EtherCAT, CC-Link, ProfiNet, ProfiBus and DeviceNet. The network can be used to control units with analogue and digital leads connected to a converter (via side connectors). As such, this solution facilitates building compact, multi-function control blocks. Such features as the Hot-Swap (re-configuration without disturbing operation) functionality and spring-loaded terminals vastly enhance the process. The components described here come with LED indicators displaying the statuses of modules and individual ports, which greatly facilitates diagnostics.
FULL RANGE OF AUTONICS PRODUCTS
Note that the offer presented above includes only new components that have recently been introduced in the TME product catalogue. The full Autonics product portfolio is much more extensive and includes regulators, counters, encoders or induction sensors, as well as actuating elements, such as servo drives. Many of these products (as well as the products presented above) are available directly from TME warehouses to ensure the shortest possible dispatch times.
