This simple circuit was obtained from Popular Electronics in December 1990. The magazine no longer exists, but the circuit can be assembled with a BC548 and a TIC106. The circuit uses two types of sensors NO and NC and its standby consumption is very low. A relay can be used instead of the lamp, supplying the circuit with 12 V.
