This simple MW radio does not need an external antenna to pick up local stations. It was found in a 1979 technical documentation and can be fitted with BC548 transistors, the most modern equivalents of the types indicated. The coil is wound on a ferrite rod 20 to 25 cm long and the wire can be 22 AWG. The phone must be magnetic. If it is ceramic or crystal, connect a 2.2 k resistor in parallel. The diode can be 1N34. Consumption is low.
