This circuit causes an LED to flash on a robot when someone speaks near him, showing that he is listening. The circuit is from a 1990 Electronics Handbook. The transistor can be a BC548 and more LEDs can be connected in parallel, each with a resistor. The microphone must be of the high impedance piezoelectric type.
