This circuit is from an English publication from 1993 but can be easily assembled with the BD135 and BD136 transistors. In fact, the input voltage can be between 5 and 12 V and the open output voltage will be approximately twice the input voltage. The diodes can also be 1N4002 or 1N4004 and the current is in the order of a few tens of milliamps at most.
