This circuit was found in a 1994 Electronics Now. The circuit uses an old analog TV flyback and the power MOSFET supports equivalents. Any type for 100 V or more with a current greater than 5 A can be used. The 12 to 18 V power supply must supply at least 3 A of current. The MOSFET must be mounted on a heat radiator. The flyback primary consists of 5 to 10 turns of common wire at the bottom of the ferrite core.
