This simple receiver picks up local MW stations with playback on a small speaker. The antenna must be at least 3 meters long. The coil consists of 30 + 50 turns of wire 28 in a ferrite rod. Grounding is important and the transformer must be obtained from an old transistor radio. Any general-purpose transistor can be used in place of the original. The receiver is from Newton C. Braga's Fun Projects for the Experimenter, published in the United States.
