This circuit is from a 1975 technical publication. The PNP transistor can be the BC558 and the NPN a BC548. The frequency is given by C, which can have its value changed in a good range of values. The current drained for 50 mA pulses is only 1 uA, as the pulses are short-lived. The circuit is ideal for exciting LEDs.
