The purpose of this simple stabilized source, obtained in a documentation from the 70s, is to provide 6 V for the supply of devices that use 4 small, medium, or large cells. The transistor can be the TIP32 and the electrolytic capacitors can be 47 uF or even 100 uF which are standard current values. Diode D1 is 1N4002. A 100 uF decoupling capacitor may be required in parallel with the output. The maximum output current is 500 mA, depending on the transformer used.
