This circuit is nothing more than a voltage quadruplicator that can generate close to 1 000 V from the 220 V obtained from an autotransformer, which will not be necessary if the local network is already 220 V. The circuit given in the figure uses metallized polyester capacitors with a minimum working voltage of 600 V. The diodes admit equivalents and the output current is only a few milliamps, as the capacitive reactance of the capacitors used in the quadruple system must be considered.
