This circuit is from a 1976 technical documentation. In it we have the way of tuning a circuit using a varicap and an auxiliary capacitor C2 that centralizes the actuation frequency, being for this reason called “auxiliary capacitor”. The control voltage depends on the varicap used and the frequency range around the value tuned by L1 and C2. Varicaps of the BB series can be used.
