The purpose of this circuit is to cut the peaks of a sinusoidal signal so that it is close to a rectangular signal. The circuit is from an old publication from the 70s, but it can be implemented with a BC558 transistor and, depending on the input signal, the supply voltage can be between 6 and 15 V. The circuit operates only with low frequency signals.
