This circuit was obtained in an old American documentation, remembering that the 566 is the double version of the 555. The circuit can be powered by voltages from 5 to 12 V and the frequency is determined by capacitor C1 and the adjustment of the potentiometer. The transistor can be any general purpose like the BC548. The maximum frequency generated is around 500 kHz.
