This circuit, which uses germanium transistors, is from a 1965 English magazine. The used transistors are very difficult to obtain, but the circuit can be adapted to use PNP silicon transistors like the BC558. The instrument can also be 1 mA with an increase from VR1 to 10k ohms. The diodes are made of germanium. Components can be changed for 12 V operation.
