This circuit is suggested by National Semiconductor and is based on an LM1578-A integrated circuit that consists of a basic, "switching supply". In the figure we have the complete circuit that receives at the input 5 V and supplies at the output 15 V, under current up to 300 mA. The ripple voltage is 5 mv and the operating frequency is 50 kHz. The load regulation is 44 mV in the range of output currents from 60 mA to 300 mA. D1 diode is Schottky type and should not be used equivalent.
