This circuit, also suggested by Texas Instruments, uses a photo diode in the reception and a field effect transistor in the amplification of the signal. The photodiodes are characterized by a higher response speed than other sensors, thus allowing the operation of this circuit in the reception of high frequency signals. The capacitor Cx must be chosen depending on this frequency to be received, typically between f nF and 100 nF. The power is supplied with voltage in the range around 15 Volts. The resistor R1 may eventually have its value changed depending on the characteristics of the photo diode.
