In the figure we have the astable configuration for the 4093 that serves as a clock for frequencies up to approximately 1.2 MHz. The formulas for the circuit are given together with the diagram. The resistor must have values in the range of 50 k ohms to 1 M ohms and the capacitor must have values in the range of 100 pf to 1 uF. However, values lower than 50k ohms can still provide satisfactory oscillations, if, together with the capacitor, the maximum frequency of the integrated, which is approximately 1.2 MHz, is not exceeded.
