This oscillator is enabled when a high level is applied to the control input. The operating frequency is given by the formula next to the diagram. The positive supply of the circuit is made on pin 14 and the negative on pin 7 with voltages in the range of 3 to 15 V. The maximum operating frequency of the circuit is around 4 MHz and depends on the supply voltage. Other similar gates in the CMOS family can be used in the same configuration.
