This circuit can be used as a basis for the design of battery chargers with up to 1.5 A of intensity, given by resistor R1, according to formulas next to the diagram. The integrated LM117 must be mounted on a good heat sink and the input voltage must be between 1.2 and 37 V. The integrated circuit has internal protection against thermal overload, in the event of a short circuit or heat dissipation problems.
