If the reader has an old PC that still uses a parallel port and wants to use it in his control and automation projects, the shield that we present below is very simple. This low power circuit for currents up to 100 mA allows relays to be driven, but higher current transistors such as the BD135 can be used to directly drive loads up to 500 mA. The circuit was found in a 1997 documentation.
