This fixed regulator for currents up to 2 A uses a 741 operational amplifier. The transistor must be mounted on a good heat radiator and the input voltage must be in the indicated range. The zener is 12 V x 400mW. Other voltages, if they are less than the minimum input, can be obtained, remembering the increase of 0.6V in the base-emitter junction of the transistor.
