This practical idea from a 1992 documentation shows how to count the turns of a winder using a standard calculator. Just type 1 + on the calculator and turn on the sensor (reed) on the = key. For each pulse of the = (sensor) key, the calculator will add 1, which will appear on the display. We note that it is necessary to check if the calculator used supports this mode of operation. A small magnet is used to activate the reed.
