The frequency of a 555 oscillator depends on the capacitance of capacitor C. We can take advantage of this in a simple capacimeter in which the output is connected to a frequency meter. The resistors, between 2k2 and 47k, depend on the capacitance range to be measured. The power supply voltage can be between 5 and 15 V.
