We found this circuit that warns when the gate of a house is opened in an old documentation, producing a beep in a loudspeaker inside that house. The circuit is from a 2001 publication, but uses components that are still common today, such as 555. The relay is 12 V with 50 or 100 mA of coil current. The sensor is a reed switch installed on the gate.
