The purpose of this 2005 circuit is to demonstrate in a very simple way the principle of operation of a calculator. For this purpose, CI 4008 (not very easy to obtain) is used, which consists of a 4-bit logical adder. In this circuit, keys S1 to S4 are for entering the values in torque of the first installment. The keys S5 to S8 enter the torque values of the second installment. The outputs (pins 10 to 14 show the sum of the portions in binary on the LEDs. The keys are push-button type (pressure switches), which with resistors and capacitors form a time circuit. The values are displayed by 19 seconds after switching in. The LEDs can form values from 09 to 15 and green represents 16.
