This circuit with the LM339 voltage comparator was found in an American documentation from 1991. The circuit switches when the resistance of R5 equals that of the LDR with the light that must be measured. A scale for the pot can be made. The power supply can be between 5 and 12 V. Change R6 according to the voltage.
